Frank J. Chiappetta graduated from Stamford High School in 1952, where he was chosen "Best in Art". In the fall of that year he entered Pratt Institute to begin studies in Industrial Design. His education was interrupted by two years of military service during the Korean Conflict. After serving two years in the United States Army, he continued his studies and graduated with a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport. That began a 25-year career that included working as a designer for Corning Glass Works, Lenox China, Syracuse China, International Silver and others. Many of his designs have appeared in the Industrial Design Magazine Annual Design Review.
In 1978, he left corporate life and while continuing his professional life as a "free lance" designer began studies for the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Bridgeport; he was ordained June13, 1981. Since then Deacon Frank has served at Sacred Heart Parish, Stamford, Our Lady of Grace, Stratford and for last 20 years has served at St. Philip. Deacon Frank also serves the Diocese as Chair of the Permanent Diaconate Council.
At the urging of his wife, Doris, and the encouragement of his Pastor, Father Michael Boccaccio, Frank participated in a Sacred Art Iconography Retreat in 2006.
For the past 27 years, Deacon Frank has dedicated his life to serving the People of God, and now shares the gift of Iconography for the Glory of God.
