This is one of my favorite quotes since I feel much the same way as he did. As a teacher at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan for many years, I feel that one's craft only improves with age and I plan on learning and developing for many years to come. I have shown throughout the area and am included in many private collections throughout the US and abroad. I feel there is an energy and movement in my work that through the manipulation of paint, I can find beauty and meaning in everyday life. Combining impressionism with realism, I cherish the changing light and colors that occur. My inspiration comes from a certain quality of light and atmosphere or a combination of colors, and I am drawn to subjects with strong design elements. I prefer the immediacy of painting from life - whether portrait, landscape, or still life. Painting is a challenge and I will continue to challenge myself because I still have a lot to learn. I know that to become an artist you must invest a lot of time and effort into it. Nothing worthwhile ever comes fast or easy. ![]() Click the image above to view Chris' portfolio | |||
