Gayle graduated from the University of Florida as an art major. She did her graduate work at New York University and taught art and design classes at The School of Visual Arts. Gayle is currently the CEO/Owner of The Whole Enchilada Branding and Marketing Company. She began her career at Young & Rubicam and later became Executive Vice President/Creative Director at Foote Cone & Belding. It was there she created the ”I’m Gonna Wash That Gray Right Outta My Hair” campaign for Clairol, making it number one in its category. Then she opened her own advertising agency, Gleckler and Partners, growing it to 17 million dollars.
On a new adventure in the 1970’s, she co-wrote, cast and co- produced “The Lords of the Flatbush”, a memorable cult classic starring Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler in their first movie. Always interested in writing, she wrote and illustrated a children’s book in 2011,”Milo My Stray Cat.” Continuing her new passion, she co-wrote and published ”Momoirs,” a collection of short stories about motherhood.
For the last ten years, Gayle has been sharing art with her husband, Tony Woolner. Their show, “Gayle & Tony’s Travels”, opened at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists in December 2016. In 2016, Gayle has had 14 art shows, including a solo show in the Cultural Alliance of Connecticut; “Visions of Southeast Asia” and Beechwood Arts,”Transform.”Currently Gayle and Tony are showcasing their art, “Perusing Peru” at The Rockwell Gallery in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She was juried in as a new member of SPAG(St Philips Artist Guild) in Norwalk, CT. She is also a member of Westport Arts Center, Putnam Art Council, and The Ridgefield Guild of Artists. Gayle has studied at Silvermine Arts Center for ten years and won first prize in the students’ show twice.
